Sighseeing
Praiano offers superb panoramic views of the coastline from pleasant walks around the town. Here tourists can also enjoy some typical local-cuisine restaurants and the majority of hotels offer International dishes as well in their own restaurants. Also, Praiano offers some of the Amalfi Coast's leading night-time attractions. The nightclub Africana is atmospherically located in a rocky grotto on the seashore, and has a long-standing fame dating back to the 1960s.
The church of San Luca Evangelista
The church of San Luca Evangelista is dedicated to the patron of Praiano, it keeps the remainings of the Saint, together with some noticeable works from the '500 by Lama, the wooden altar and the "Madonna col Bambino tra i santi Luca e Francesco". This is one of the most notable sights in Praiano worth to be seen - within the church there are several side chapels, some treasured relics of the saint, and an attractive eighteenth-century majolica floor.
Festivals
Praiano is the home for a great number of amusing feasts. Be sure not to miss especially the Festivals of St. Luke taking place on the first Sunday in July and 18th October, the Festival of St. Gennaro on 18th September and the colourful Potato festival on 20th May. All of these are picturesque events full of joy and entertainment not only for the locals, but for the international tourists as well.
